MY RESEARCH JOURNEY

Understanding brain health,
one connection at a time.

My doctoral research at Dalhousie University focused on the role of neuronal cholesterol homeostasis in synaptic plasticity. I investigated how changes in cholesterol affect dendritic spine remodeling and synaptic function in hippocampal neurons.

Previously, at the American University of Beirut, I studied how a high-fat diet influences the outcomes of traumatic brain injury. These experiences shaped my interest in the intersection of metabolism and neurological health.

Alongside research, I have taught biochemistry laboratory courses, mentored undergraduate researchers, and contributed to scientific and community service.
