The molecular basis of
neuronal connections.

My current research focus is neuroscience: mechanisms of lipid regulation of synaptic plasticity. My background brings together cholesterol biology, synaptic organization, and metabolic influences on neurological health.

01

Cholesterol homeostasis

How does cholesterol shape synaptic plasticity?

My doctoral work investigated how alterations in cholesterol homeostasis affect dendritic spine remodeling and synaptic function in hippocampal neurons.

Synaptic nano-organization

What can the nanoscale reveal about neuronal communication?

During Cajal training in Bordeaux, I investigated spectrin–PIP2 interactions and the nano-organization of NMDA receptor subunits GluN2A and GluN2B in dendritic spines.

Metabolism & neurotrauma

How does diet modify the consequences of brain injury?

My master’s research investigated how a high-fat diet influences neuropathological, metabolic, and cardiovascular alterations in an experimental model of traumatic brain injury.
